4. How did Thiruvananthapuram Central achieve ISO 14001?
Ajay Kaushik, Station Director Thiruvananthapuram Central had himself taken the initiative for ISO certification of the station. The goal was achieved under the valuable guidance of Mr Shirish Kumar Sinha, Sub-Divisional Railway Manager. The ISO certification process was, in fact, a crucial part of the proposed renovation of the Thiruvananthapuram Central Station.
According to Mr Kaushik,
“ISO 14001:2015 certified organisations act as the environmental pillar of sustainable development. The Civil establishment must come forward to contribute towards this goal.”
The management panel has now decided to display the ISO certificate at the vantage point of the station so that the commuters also notice this key achievement.
