Although the pace of implementation of reforms under GST regime had begun to come to a halt owing to a few glitches in the electronic mechanism of goods transit, better known as E-waybill. However, following the onset of FY 2018-19 the government has tremendously paced up the reforms once again, especially with regard to the E-waybill roll-out.

With the interstate E-waybill already implemented from the 1st of April, the CBIC is progressively accomplishing the task of rolling out the intrastate E-waybills. As per its scheme, the department had proposed to implement the intrastate E-waybill mechanism in all 29 states by June 30 in a phased manner.
